Argument 144

Argument 144 According to the passage, the author considered that due to the lower increase rate of donation to the nonprofit groups, the education today is not priority for most people. And these differences in donation rates must caused by the realization that the educational institution requires funds are not as urgently as other institutions. Unfortunately, such conclusion is unwarranted.   To begin with the threshold problem, it is doubtable that if the level of increase can exactly reflect the real situation of the funds. The author displays some data of the rate, and the expansion of donation for education has only 3% of all. It tempts to express that as a result of lower rate in expanding, the funds of nonprofit group for education is less than the funds for religious. Actually, the amounts of funds are not provided, and how much the educational donation has increased is empty. It is perfectly probable that the funds of education last year is big enough that 3% increasing means times larger than the 25% increasing in religious donation, and people still give high priority to the education institution. Therefore, the writer fails to prove the less increase is necessary related to […]

Issue 153

153.Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively   As I am concern, the advice that students should keep skepticism and question about what they are learning during the study is obviously a wise suggestion. Nowadays, we students need to learn much more knowledge than ever before, and the overdose information has damaged the skepticism of ours. Therefore, to question the things we learn is exactly a effective way to help us with studying spontaneously.   Firstly, keeping doubt about the present theory could promote the probability to find out the new point of it. For example, R.A.Millikan, a great American physicist, spent 10 years to do experiments to try to disprove the quantum light theory, which was raised by Albert Einstein and had not been proved yet. Unexpectedly, at last, he demonstrates it instead. If he were a man that never suspects the theory, he would not conform it, which is truly of enormous significant to the science history, even the human history.   Secondly, the skepticism is also a kind of method to consolidate the knowledge that we had learnt. To question oneself about […]
